Our Beginning
Jewel Hippie began in 2020, sparked by a need for something personal and meaningful: my own wedding jewelry. I couldn’t find pieces that felt quite right, so I made them myself. That experience reignited something I’d dabbled in during childhood and college but had never taken seriously as “real art.” After testing the waters at a few craft shows, I realized this little spark had potential. In 2021, I launched Jewel Hippie. By 2023, I took a leap of faith, leaving my job as an art teacher to take Jewel Hippie full time.
The Brand
The name Jewel Hippie comes from two things I love most: gemstones (literal jewels!) and a free-spirited, soulful lifestyle. My style is unapologetically eclectic, blending vintage with modern, funky with romantic. I believe in embracing change, evolving over time, and letting your personal style reflect that. My goal is to create jewelry that helps people feel more like themselves—confident, grounded, and connected to their own beauty and uniqueness. I celebrate individuality because beauty isn’t one-size-fits-all.
The Materials
Natural gemstones have always fascinated me. Their colors, sparkle, and raw beauty—straight from the earth—still amaze me. Moss Agate, Citrine, and Rainbow Moonstone are a few of my favorites. I also work with upcycled vintage tins, which started when a friend suggested I try working with patterned metal. That first pair of tin earrings opened up a whole new world for me. Each tin carries its own mystery and history, and I love imagining who owned it, what it was used for, and the journey it took before landing in my hands. I source them from estate sales, antique shops, and thrift stores, giving these forgotten objects new life.

The Process
Every piece is made by hand in my small home studio in Tennessee. My favorite part of the process is cutting into the vintage tins and planning how to pair their patterns and shapes. I often combine pieces from different tins to create something totally unique—a fusion of stories. The same goes for gemstones: no two are ever exactly alike. I love the idea that even when something seems the same, it carries its own one-of-a-kind spirit.
The Lifestyle & Inspiration
My personal style is whimsical, earthy, and romantic. I find inspiration in everything from dusty antiques and celestial themes to garden blooms and the changing seasons. My jewelry reflects the cycles of nature and life—how we grow, shed, and transform. I believe there’s magic in embracing who you are, even as that changes over time. My customers are often drawn to that sense of meaning and mindfulness, especially in a world full of mass production and waste. They appreciate handmade, intentional design and materials with a story.
Beyond Jewelry
Before I was the jewelry queen, I was the watercolor queen! I’ve loved art for as long as I can remember and began teaching art classes back in high school. I later earned my BFA in Studio Art Education and taught visual art in schools for five years. I still teach art workshops today, and I love helping others tap into their own creativity. It’s a beautiful reminder that everyone has something unique to express.
About Me
I live in Tennessee with my husband, Lucas, who is also an artist, writer, and teacher. When I’m not in the studio, I love being outside—growing vegetables, tending flowers, or wandering off to antique stores and coffee shops. Lucas and I love to travel, hike, and explore the beauty of the world together. I believe in slowing down, noticing the little things, and finding joy in the imperfect.
